Gazzeted Class I officers are inducted into this force on getting selected by Public Service Commission(PSC). Soon after joining the service the green officers undertake 26 weeks Basic Course at Ansar-VDP Academy, Shafipur, Gazipur which includes 2 weeks practical orientation programme in Chittagong Hill Tracts. Upon completion of the Basic Course they are posted to various field units for OJT. Subsequently on receipt of vacancies they undertake 16 weeks mandatory foundation training at Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC),Savar, Dhaka and 4 weeks orientation course at Bangladesh Military Academy(BMA). Besides these, the officers continue to attend various courses at home & abroad to enrich their knowledge.
